Selection Process

Preliminary Written Exam: 200 marks (100 MCQs, 2 hours). General Knowledge & Current Affairs. Qualifying: 30% minimum. Shortlisting 1:20 ratio.
Main Written Exam:
- Paper I (General Hindi): 200 marks (100 MCQs, 2 hours). Qualifying only (30% minimum). Marks not added to merit.
- Paper II (General Studies, Science, Civics, History, Geography, Math, Mental Ability): 200 marks (100 MCQs, 2 hours). Marks added to merit.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying only. Race, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put. Standards as per notification.
Medical Examination & Document Verification.

Negative Marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer in both written exams.

Final Merit & Qualifying Marks (Main Exam)

Based on Main Written Exam (Paper II) marks.
Minimum Qualifying Marks (Category-wise):
- General: 40%
- BC: 36.5%
- EBC: 34%
- SC/ST/Female: 32%
Tie-breaker: Older age > Higher educational qualification > 10th board name order.

Go to the "Home Guard" tab and click on Advt. No. 08/2026.
Complete the Registration (Part 1): Provide name, nationality, mobile number, email ID, Bihar domicile, category, gender, date of birth.
Pay the application fee (₹100) online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
Login with the registration number and password, then fill Part 2: Father/Husband name, mother's name, address, educational qualification, etc.
Upload a recent color photo (white background, 15-25 KB, .jpg/.jpeg/.gif) and signature (Hindi & English, black/blue ink, white background, 15-25 KB).
Verify all details, agree to the declaration, and Submit the application.
Take a printout of the final acknowledgment for future reference.
