Brief Information

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), one of India's largest commercial undertakings and a Fortune "Global 500" Company, has released a recruitment notification for engagement of 1,450 Apprentices at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. Candidates with B.Sc., Diploma, ITI, B.Com, B.A., and Class XII qualifications are eligible to apply. The selection will be based on merit without any written test. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through NAPS/NATS portal and Microsoft Forms between 14-07-2026 and 12-08-2026.

  • Qualification Validity: Must have already passed as on 31-07-2026 (Result Awaited candidates NOT eligible)
  • CGPA/OGPA Conversion: Equivalent percentage must be indicated as per University/Board norms
  • ITI Qualification: Only regular full-time ITI course recognised by NCVET/SCVT
  • Lateral Entry Diploma: Candidates admitted in 2nd year of Diploma through lateral entry are eligible

Key Requirements: Minimum 40% disability certified by competent authority as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017. Must be capable of performing assigned tasks using suitable aids.


Reservation Rules

  • SC Seats: If unavailable, filled by OBC candidates, then UR candidates
  • OBC Seats: If unavailable, filled by SC candidates, then UR candidates
  • EWS Seats: If unavailable, filled by UR candidates
  • PwBD Seats: If unavailable, filled by candidates with minimum physical fitness standards

Ineligibility Conditions

Candidates are NOT eligible if they:

  • Hold higher qualifications (B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or equivalent)
  • Have job experience of 1 year or more after attaining qualification
  • Exceed 5 years after acquiring prescribed qualification
  • Have qualification through Part-Time/Correspondence/Distance Education mode
  • Previous apprenticeship terminated due to candidate's failure (Never eligible)
  • Applied for multiple trades (Applications for more than one trade will be rejected)
  • For Code 108: Applying for both Panipat and New Delhi locations

Selection Process

  1. Merit Based Selection: No Written Test. Selection based on percentage of marks in prescribed qualification (descending order)
  2. First Preference: Candidates applying for first-time apprenticeship
  3. Tie-Breaking Criteria:
    • Higher percentage marks in prescribed qualification
    • Senior by age (date of birth)
    • If same date of birth: Higher percentage in Matriculation
  4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates called based on merit and seat availability
  5. Pre-Engagement Medical Examination: Only medically fit candidates considered

Stipend & Benefits

  • Stipend: As per Apprentices Act, 1961/1973/Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended)
  • Personal Protective Equipment: For Codes 101, 102, 104, 105, 106 & 107 - One pair of safety shoes & one helmet (returnable)
  • Accommodation: No HRA or Company accommodation provided
  • Leave & Holidays: General Leave - 32 days (@8 days per quarter); Casual Leave - 12 days per calendar year (pro-rata); Holidays as observed in establishment
  • Insurance: Accident Insurance Coverage provided
