Qualification
Essential Qualifications:
- (a) Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or Doctorate degree from a recognized university in Food Technology disciplines (Food Engineering, Food Processing, Food Safety and Quality Management, etc.), OR Dairy Technology/Biotechnology/Oil Technology, OR Agricultural Science disciplines (Agriculture, Biotechnology, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, Food Technology, Food Nutrition and Dietetic, Horticulture), OR Veterinary Sciences, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Medicine, OR MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BUMS/BSMS/BAMS.
- (b) Must have successfully completed training as specified by the Food Authority (training will be given after appointment).
- Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matric OR Hindi as one of the subjects in Higher Education.
Note: No person who has any financial interest in the manufacture, import, or sale of any article of food shall be appointed as Food Safety Officer under Food Safety & Standard Rules, 2011.

Note: The Commission may adopt various modes for shortlisting candidates including percentage of marks in minimum educational qualification, weightage of different educational qualifications, desirable qualifications, higher experience, or holding a Screening Test/Subject Knowledge Test. The decision of the Commission regarding the pattern of exam is final and binding.

Apply Process
- Register online at https://hpsc.gov.in using Mobile Number.
- Login with URN and fill the online application form as per qualifications.
- Upload scanned photo, signature, and required documents.
- Pay fees online through Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.
- Take a printout of the application form, sign it, and upload the signed copy along with documents.
- Take a final printout of the successfully submitted application for future reference.
Important: If the signed copy of the duly filled and checked application form is not uploaded, the application will be considered incomplete and automatically rejected. No changes are allowed after submission.
