Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade 'D' (Group C) Examination 2026. Total 731+ tentative vacancies. Candidates who have passed 12th standard (or equivalent) from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Age limit: 18-30 years for Grade 'C' and 18-27 years for Grade 'D'. Qualification Details

- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website (old OTR from ssc.nic.in is invalid). OTR requires basic details, Aadhaar (optional but recommended), mobile/email verification.
- Login with Registration Number and Password.

- Fill the application form: personal, educational, category, age relaxation, centre preferences (3 centres anywhere in India), post preference (Grade C / D / Both), medium of skill test (English/Hindi).
- Capture live photograph (no pre-existing photo allowed unless Aadhaar-authenticated). Ensure good light, plain background, no cap/spectacles, front view.

Syllabus Level: For Matriculation & 10+2 posts – as per class 10/12 standard; for Graduation posts – Part A,B,D of graduation level, Part C of 10th standard.
Skill Test: Typing/Data Entry/CPT where prescribed (qualifying nature).
Selection Process
- Computer Based Examination (Objective MCQ)
- Shortlisting (1:30 for ≤5 vacancies, 1:15 for >5 vacancies)
- Scrutiny of Documents (Upload self-attested copies)
- Skill Test (where applicable)
- Document Verification (DV) by User Department
- Final Merit List
How to Apply Online (SSC Phase-XIV/2026)
- Visit SSC official website https://ssc.gov.in and click “Login/Register”.
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) – Aadhaar based authentication is recommended.
- Capture live photograph via webcam/mobile (no pre-existing photo).
- Upload scanned signature (JPEG, 10-20 KB, dimension ~6cm x 2cm).
- Fill application form: select Region → Post Code → verify EQ & experience.
- Pay ₹100 fee (if not exempted) online via UPI/Net Banking/Card.
- Submit and take printout of final application.
Note: Apply separately for each post category. Correction window available on 11-13 May 2026 with fee.
