SSF Constable (Barber & Washerman) Recruitment 2026
Brief Information
Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has released a recruitment notification for the posts of Constable (Barber) and Constable (Washerman). Total 10 vacancies (03 Barber + 07 Washerman) are announced. Male Indian citizens who have passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Age limit is 18-23 years as on 28th April 2026. The online application process starts on 30th March 2026 and closes on 28th April 2026. Selection will be based on PET, PST, Written Exam, Trade Test, and Medical Examination. Age Limit
Minimum: 18 Years — Maximum: 23 Years (as on 28th April 2026). Candidates should not have been born earlier than 29th April 2003 and not later than 28th April 2008. Age relaxation applicable for SC (5 years), OBC (3 years), and Ex-Servicemen as per rules.
Qualification
Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from a recognized School or Institution/Board. Candidates must also pass a Trade Test in the profession of Barber or Washerman.

Selection Process
- Phase I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 1.6 km race (7.30 min), Long Jump (11 ft), High Jump (3.5 ft) – Qualifying only
- Phase I: Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height, Chest, Weight measurement
- Phase II: Written Examination (50 Marks, 1 hour) – General Awareness, Maths, Analytical Aptitude, English/Hindi
- Phase III: Trade Test (50 Marks) – Qualifying marks 50%
- Phase IV: Document Verification & Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

Qualifying Marks: UR/Ex-Servicemen – 18 marks; SC/OBC – 17 marks. No negative marking.
