Reservation & Important Notes

Medical Fitness & Health Standards
- Appointment provisional upon being declared medically fit by Company's Medical Examination as per CIL rules.
- Minimum height: 60 inches (for Assistant Foreman Electrical - not applicable for Dwarfism/Dw category).
- If declared UNFIT in Initial Medical Exam, case referred to Apex Medical Board within one month; Apex Board decision final.
Test Cities
Candidates may opt for three test cities from the list. SECL reserves right to allocate or change test city. Test cities list available on online application portal.

Important Note on PwBD Reservation
As per guidelines of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GoI & CIL letter dated 27/09/2024, the posts of Jr. Overman, Mining Sirdar & Surveyor do not fall under the identified list of positions for PwBDs. Hence, reservation for PwBD candidates is not applicable for these three posts. PwBD reservation is applicable only for the posts of Translator and Technician (Pathology).
Age Limit (as on 06/April/2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Upper Age Limit for General (UR)/EWS: 30 years
- OBC (NCL): 33 years (30+3)
- SC/ST: 35 years (30+5)
- Ex-Servicemen: Actual service rendered + 3 years
