Brief Information
Indian Army has released the notification for 145th Technical Graduate Course (TGC-145) commencing in July 2027 at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. Applications are invited from eligible unmarried Male Engineering Graduates for Permanent Commission in the Indian Army. A total of 30 vacancies are available across Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Miscellaneous Engineering streams. Candidates must be born between 01 July 2000 and 30 June 2007 (age 20–27 years as on 01 July 2027). The online application will open on 30 September 2026 (1500 hrs) and close on 29 October 2026 (1500 hrs). Age Limit
Minimum: 20 Years — Maximum: 27 Years (as on 01 July 2027)
Birth Date Criteria: Born not earlier than 01 July 2000 and not later than 30 June 2007.
Note: The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or Equivalent Examination Certificate will only be accepted. No other document relating to age will be accepted.
Qualification
Essential Qualification: BE/B.Tech or M.Sc Computer Science in the notified Engineering streams as listed in Para 3 of the notification.
Final Year Candidates: Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering degree can also apply, provided their final year/final semester exam result will be declared on or before 01 July 2027. They must submit proof of passing Engineering Degree Examination along with marksheets of all semesters/years by 01 July 2027 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA.
Foreign Degree: Candidates with Engineering Degree from a foreign country are NOT eligible.
Disqualification: Candidates withdrawn, dismissed, removed, or invalidated from any Defence Training Academy on disciplinary, administrative, or medical grounds are NOT eligible.

Note 2: Recommended candidates of TGC-145 whose merit is not within the allotted vacancies of respective Engineering streams may be offered to join Short Service Commission (Tech) Course (Oct 2027), subject to meeting all eligibility conditions and availability of unutilised vacancies.
Note 3: Candidates must have obtained degree in Engineering from University/Institutions recognized by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities/Autonomous Universities under UGC Act 1956, IIT Act 1961, AICTE Act 1987, NITSER Act 2007 & IIIT Act 2024. Candidates with graduation from foreign countries are NOT permitted to apply.

Selection Process
- Shortlisting of Applications: Based on the vacancy-to-call-up ratio for each Engineering stream. Cut-off applied on cumulative percentage of marks up to the final semester/year.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called to one of the Selection Centres – Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab). The interview is a two-stage process (Stage-1 and Stage-2) with a maximum duration of 5 days.
- Medical Examination: Conducted for candidates recommended after Stage-2. SSB medical examination (SMB) is valid for 270 days from the date of medical to the date of joining the course (01 July 2027).
- Merit List: Prepared Engineering stream/subject-wise based on SSB interview marks. Tie-breakers: older candidate in age ranked higher; if same, higher percentage of marks in the qualifying degree.
- Joining Letter: Issued to candidates in the merit list, within the stipulated stream-wise vacancies, and medically fit for pre-commission training at IMA Dehradun.

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training: ₹56,100 per month (Starting Pay in Level 10 of Pay Matrix).
Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month (for ranks Lieutenant to Brigadier).
Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance, Para Reserve Allowance (₹2,625/month), Technical Allowance (Tier-I: ₹3,000/month, Tier-II: ₹4,500/month), Dress Allowance (₹20,000/year), Ration in Kind, Transport Allowance (TPTA), Children Education Allowance (₹2,250/month per child), Hostel Subsidy (₹6,750/month per child). Field area allowances vary by location and rank.
Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF): Officer Cadets are insured for ₹1.25 Cr. Subscription of ₹12,500/month is required. Disability benefits: ₹25 Lakh for 100% disability, proportionately reduced to ₹5 Lakh for 20% disability. Less than 20% disability gets an Ex-Gratia grant of ₹50,000.

- Visit the official website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
- Click on 'Officer Entry Apply/Login' and then click 'Registration' (if not already registered).
- Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully. Aadhaar number and matriculation certificate are mandatory for registration.
- After getting registered, click on 'Apply Online' under Dashboard. A page Officers Selection 'Eligibility' will open.
- Click 'Apply' shown against Technical Graduate Course.
- Fill the Application Form under various segments – Personal information, Communication details, Education details, and details of previous SSB. Click 'Save & Continue' each time before going to the next segment.
- After filling details on the last segment, review the 'Summary of your information' page. Only after ascertaining correctness, click on 'Submit'.
- Take out two copies of the application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after the final closure of online application.
Note: Candidates must submit only ONE online application. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature.
Documents to Carry for SSB Interview
- One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and affixed with self-attested photograph.
- Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate or equivalent certificate and marksheet issued by the concerned Board of Education.
- 12th class marksheet and certificate or Equivalent certificate/Diploma marksheet and certificate (Diploma holders).
- Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by the recognised university. Provisional Degree should not be more than six months old at the time of joining the Academy.
- Marksheets of all semesters/years.
- Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/Registrar of the concerned University regarding formula for conversion of CGPA/Grades into marks.
- Certificate issued by the Controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean of the concerned University or Principal of the College regarding cumulative percentage of marks up to 6th semester/3rd year of Engg degree, up to 8th semester/4th year of B.Arch, and up to 2nd semester/1st year of M.Sc (for final year candidates).
- Certificate from the Principal/Head of the Institution stating that the candidate is studying in final year and his result will be declared by 01 Jul 2027.
- Declaration by the candidate of final year Engineering degree course that he will submit the proof of passing Engg Degree Examination along with marksheets of all semesters/years by 01 Jul 2027 to Directorate General of Recruiting.
- Documents related to civil verification (police verification).
Important: DIGILOCKER Certificate will NOT be accepted in lieu of ORIGINAL Certificates. All certificates in original must be carried for SSB Interview for verification.
