Brief Information

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) 2026. A total of 394 vacancies (Army, Navy, Air Force, and Naval Academy) are to be filled. Candidates who have passed 12th class (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (for Air Force/Navy) or 12th pass (for Army) are eligible. The online application portal is open from 20 May 2026 to 09 June 2026. The written exam will be held on 13 September 2026. Age Limit (As on 01 July 2027)

Minimum: Born not earlier than 01 January 2008 — Maximum: Born not later than 01 January 2011. Only unmarried male/female candidates are eligible. Age relaxation is not applicable. Date of birth as recorded in Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate will be accepted.


Educational Qualification

  • Army Wing of NDA: 12th Class pass (10+2 pattern) or equivalent from recognized board/university.
  • Air Force & Naval Wings of NDA: 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (10+2 pattern).
  • 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme (Indian Naval Academy): 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible but must submit proof of passing by 10 June 2027.
  • Note: Candidates appearing in 11th class are NOT eligible.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination (Mathematics – 300 marks, General Ability Test – 600 marks) – Total 900 marks
  2. SSB Interview (Services Selection Board – 900 marks) – Stage I (OIR & PP&DT) and Stage II (Psych, GTO, Interview, Conference)
  3. Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) – Only for Air Force Flying branch candidates
  4. Medical Examination – As per military standards (SHAPE-1)
  5. Final Merit – Based on written + SSB marks, preference, and medical fitness

How to Apply (Online Process)

  1. Visit official website: https://upsconline.nic.in
  2. Register once to create Universal Registration Number (URN) (one-time lifetime registration).
  3. Fill Common Application Form (CAF) – upload photo (live capture required) and signature (three times on white paper with black ink).
  4. Fill Examination Specific Module – select preferences (Army/Navy/Air Force/Naval Academy), exam centre, and pay fee (if applicable).
  5. Submit application before 09 June 2026 (6:00 PM). No withdrawal or correction after submission.
  6. Take a printout of the final submitted form for future reference.
